Haitian Laser: a unique anti-collision solution for dual-head 3D five-axis laser cutting
Haitian's dual-gantry 3D five-axis laser cutter has two cutting heads whose five-axis paths are complex and interfere easily. FASTSUITE provides a unique dual-head anti-collision solution, and dual-head cutting is 80% more efficient.
The customer
Ningbo Haitian Laser Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. draws on the Haitian Group’s more than fifty years of manufacturing experience to develop dual-cantilever and dual-gantry 3D five-axis laser cutting machines. Haitian calls its dual-head model the world’s first dual-head 3D five-axis laser cutter.
The dual-head challenge
Two cutting heads can cut large double door rings or process two workpieces at once. But with five-axis simultaneous motion, the paths of the two heads are complex, and heads, workpieces and fixtures interfere easily; conventional anti-collision approaches cannot cope.
The FASTSUITE solution
- High-precision 3D simulation and collision detection: the paths of both heads are shown live while programming, interference between heads, workpiece and fixture is detected precisely, and every view can be reviewed.
- Intelligent path planning and optimisation: automatic obstacle avoidance from the workpiece and fixture geometry, less head rotation time, and cutting paths split so neither head waits.
- Tailored machining strategies: Haitian’s exact 3D machine models imported, parameters adapted to materials and process requirements, and continuous improvement from user feedback.
Results
Dual-head cutting is 80% more efficient, and the machine has proven itself on the market with stable, efficient operation.
“Haitian chose FASTSUITE not only to meet today’s production needs, but to build the intelligent factory of the future together.”
