On the shop floor

FASTCUBE Shopfloor Assistant

Fix deviations where they happen, and validate before you run

When parts, tolerances or clamping differ from the original offline program, operators adjust the program in 3D right at the machine. Every change is validated visually before execution, without going back and forth with the CAM department.

  • On-premise
  • No cloud dependency
  • No special hardware
  • Runs in the browser

When reality and the program disagree, fast fixes and thorough checks rarely go together

In real production, parts, tolerances or clamping often differ from the original offline program, and production teams keep having to choose between a quick change and a thorough validation.

Machine downtime

The program does not match the real part, so the machine stands and waits. Downtime eats capacity, costs money and can put delivery dates at risk.

Risky manual edits

Editing NC or robot code directly on the machine is fast but hard to verify. Without a visual check the risk of a wrong edit is higher.

A slow CAM feedback loop

Handing the change to CAM or engineering is safer but slow, disrupts the production rhythm and ties up scarce experts.

The usual way

Either risk the edit or stop and wait

  1. 1 The part deviates in practice
  2. 2 The operator spots the problem
  3. 3 Edit the code, or go through CAM
  4. 4 The machine stops or waits
  5. 5 Check and approve again

Typical result: long interruptions, production delays, high engineering cost and a higher risk from manual code edits.

With FASTCUBE Shopfloor Assistant

Controlled adjustments on the shop floor

  1. 1 Open the program in 3D
  2. 2 Fine-tune the contour or motion
  3. 3 Test the change virtually
  4. 4 Execute precisely
  5. 5 Back in production sooner

Typical result: less downtime, visual checks instead of blind code edits, fewer CAM loops and more flexibility on site.

How it works: four steps to correct a production deviation

  1. 01

    Open the program

Existing NC or robot programs are shown in clear 3D and can be opened right on the shop floor.

  2. 02

    Adjust where needed

Change contours, geometry, axes or motions where the real process deviates from the original program.

  3. 03

    Validate virtually

Every change is checked visually before execution, so there are no uncontrolled code edits.

  4. 04

    Carry on producing

Once checked, production resumes under controlled conditions, without running the whole CAM process again.

Dual-head machines

Works with dual-head and multi-head machines

On a dual-head 3D five-axis cutter both heads work in the same program, so after a change the paths and collision avoidance of both heads must be validated together. Adjust at the machine, validate virtually and run: dual-head machines do not have to go back to CAM either.

The Haitian Laser dual-head case

Results: 80% less downtime, 60% less rework, 30% faster cycles

Machines back up sooner

Corrections and validation happen on the shop floor, so a deviation no longer means a long stop.

Real deviations handled better

Material tolerances, geometric deviations and short-notice changes are handled in a controlled, traceable way.

Less load on CAM and engineering

Not every small adjustment has to go through CAM or engineering again.

Lower risk from code edits

3D visualisation and virtual validation make sure every change is confirmed before it runs.

Higher equipment availability

Fewer interruptions, more productive time and a more stable process.

Tighter cycle times

Small deviations are handled at the machine instead of waiting in the CAM queue, so the production rhythm is not broken.

Who it is for

Teams that need to handle production deviations on the shop floor quickly and reliably. Together with FASTSUITE Edition 2 it completes the chain: offline programming in the office, correction on the shop floor.

  • Less machine downtime and higher availability
  • Visual, controlled changes instead of blind code edits
  • Fewer ad-hoc shop-floor queries and feedback loops
  • On-premise, no cloud dependency, no special hardware
  • More flexibility while meeting safety and validation requirements

Frequently asked questions

What can Shopfloor Assistant adjust? +

FASTCUBE Shopfloor Assistant supports targeted adjustments within defined parameter ranges; every change can be visualised and fully checked before execution.

Is it safe to change programs on the shop floor? +

3D visualisation, virtual validation and checks before execution greatly reduce the risk of uncontrolled changes.

Does every adjustment need a new CAM run? +

No. Not every small deviation has to go through CAM or engineering again; the adjustment can be visualised, executed and checked right on the shop floor.

Can it run on-premise? +

Yes. FASTCUBE Shopfloor Assistant is designed for industrial production environments and can run without the cloud.

Can we try it first? +

Yes. We recommend a demo with a real NC or robot program that has a typical deviation.

Try it with your own program and deviation

Bring a real NC or robot program, and an engineer will walk you through it with a typical deviation scenario.
